We are very excited to announce that Dr. Christine Gin has successfully completed her board certification exams and is now a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
A Board Certified Orthodontist is an orthodontist who has studied and performed hundreds of additional hours to fully demonstrate the skills and knowledge required for providing orthodontic services at the highest level of patient care. The certification is a voluntary credential that represents an orthodontist’s personal and public commitment to the standards of specialty practice and lifelong learning. They have reached a distinct level of achievement that goes beyond state required licensure, orthodontic residency training and additional education and ongoing assessment.
Dr. Gin received her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of the Philippines in 1993 and her certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from University of Minnesota in 1995. While there, she taught orthodontic courses to undergraduate students before earning a Master’s Degree in Dentistry. Dr. Gin continued her training for two more years and received a Temporomandibular/Orofacial Pain Certificate.
Dr. Gin has more than twenty years of orthodontic experience. She speaks Mandarin and is fluent in both Fookien and Filipino. She is a member of the Illinois Society of Orthodontists, the Midwestern Society of Orthodontists, the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, the Chicago Dental Society, the Illinois State Dental Society and just recently the American Board of Orthodontics.
